How it works
The converter parses your input flexibly — it accepts plain decimal degrees (51.5074), signed values (-33.8688), hemisphere-suffixed values (51.5074 N), and full DMS notation (51° 30' 26" N). The output is formatted to the selected target format.
Formats supported
- Decimal degrees (DD) — e.g.
51.507400° N. The format used by most GPS apps, Google Maps, and digital chart plotters. - Degrees, minutes, seconds (DMS) — e.g.
51° 30′ 26.640″ N. Traditional nautical chart notation.
Degrees, decimal minutes (DDM) support is planned for a future update.
